Internships

Want to gain a competitive edge in your future career? Internships can help you develop valuable job skills, gain practical work experience, and explore potential career paths—all while learning in a real-world environment. Many REEES students seek internships within their chosen field.

The University of Oregon Career Center provides career and job search assistance, offers strategies for choosing a career, and helps connect students with local and global internship opportunities. Students participating in internships can earn up to 12 upper division credits in a 10-week term.

Slavic Immigrant Artists in the Northwest

Painting of St. Cyani The Flower

The Slavic Immigrant Artists in the Northwest (SIAN) is an internship program devoted to the study of contemporary Northwest artists from Eastern Europe and Eurasia. Launched in January 2023 by Heghine Hakobyan and Jenifer Presto, SIAN is funded by the College of Arts and Sciences, the Lindholm Faculty Fund, the Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies program, and the School of Global Studies and Languages.

UO students who are interested in the arts can earn credit for participation in this internship. No knowledge of a Slavic language or prior coursework is required. Undergraduates register for RUSS 404 and graduate students for RUSS 604.
