Study Abroad

Travel and Study Around the World

To attain advanced proficiency in any language, there is no substitute for living in a country where it is spoken. We encourage REEES students to consider a summer, semester, or year abroad. The UO offers opportunities to study in Prague, Czech Republic and Riga, Latvia, as well as other exciting locations in Eastern Europe and Eurasia. You can count any language study toward the three years required for the major and minor, as well as up to four other courses on Russian or Eastern European themes toward your major or two courses toward your minor.

Building in Latvia

Every country and culture approaches Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies differently. The best way to gain a well-rounded and diverse view is to live and study in another country.
