University of Oregon English Undergraduate Organization
Founded by and for undergraduates pursuing the study of English, literature, and writing at the University of Oregon, the EUO’s main goal is to provide a community for undergraduates to help insure both social and academic success within the English Department. Historically, the EUO has organized trips to Ashland, Oregon for the Shakespeare Festival, hosted English trivia nights and literary themed parties at the EMU, and created an active book club wherein the study of literature is placed in conversation with socially just activism. Combined, these activities make EUO the social and academic hub for undergraduates in the English Department. Finally, the EUO includes professional (or professionalization) programing as part of its goals. They regularly hold events with the UO Career Center, English Department Alumni, faculty, and often invite members of the larger UO community to speak about their professional lives as a way to orient English students towards a successful future after graduation.
