Our dynamic master’s program is known for its pluralism, close mentoring relationships between graduate students and faculty, and a faculty committed to teaching excellence as well as research. Doctorate Degree

The department and faculty have particular strengths in a range of traditions and fields of focus. The program requires students to develop a broad knowledge of the history of philosophy, major fields, and various approaches and methods. We also welcome interdisciplinary approaches. Students are expected to concentrate in a specific area at the advanced level.

Funding your Graduate Studies

Students admitted to the doctoral program are normally given a graduate employee position, which includes a full tuition waiver, health insurance, and a monetary stipend. The department also offers travel awards for professional conferences and job interviews as well as other funding opportunities.
