Like the major, a theatre arts minor involves both hands-on and scholarly coursework with exposure to theatre’s varied practice areas. It also allows for some specialization. For many students, the minor keeps them involved in creative practice or complements their major in other disciplines such as Cinema Studies, Dance, Journalism, Music, or Psychology.
To complete a minor in theatre arts, students must fulfill the following requirements:
- A minimum of 24 theatre arts credits, including 16 upper-division (300-level or above) taken at UO.
- Minors also take a minimum of one course in each category: Performance, Literature/Criticism, Technical Theatre, Theatre History.
- All courses must be completed with a C grade or higher.
