Classical Association of the Pacific Northwest 2024 Conference

The University of Oregon Department of Classics is excited to be hosting the 52nd meeting of the Classical Association of the Pacific Northwest (CAPN) on Friday, March 15th and Saturday, March 16th, 2023.

Friday, March 15th, 2024, beginning at 6:30 pm - Reception and Keynote
Saturday, March 16th, 2024, beginning at 8:30 am - Paper sessions and roundtables

REGISTRATION
Registration Fees

  • General (in person) - $100
  • General(by Zoom) - $50
  • Student/Contingent Faculty (in person) - $50
  • Student/Contingent Faculty(by Zoom) - $25

Your registration fee covers the keynote and reception on Friday night and the conference on Saturday, including a continental breakfast and lunch.

KEYNOTE
The keynote lecture will be given by Professor Ann Kuttner of the University of Pennsylvania at 7:30 on Friday, March 15th in the Gerlinger Alumni Lounge.

ABSTRACT AND ROUNDTABLE SUBMISSION
Please upload an anonymized abstract of no more than 250 words or a roundtable proposal of no more than 150 words here. Presentations should be no longer than 15 minutes in length and roundtables will last roughly an hour. The deadline for submission is January 15th, 2024.

TRAVEL AND LODGING
Conference activities will take place in TBA on the University of Oregon Eugene campus.

Parking on campus:
In order to purchase visitor parking permits, you must use the UO Transportation Services Permit Portal. Lot parking is $5/day. There is also nearby garage parking in the 13th Avenue Garage. Parking in the 13th Avenue Garage is $2/hr, maxing out at $18/day. The closest lots to the conference are TBA.
